My work focuses on themes that make the viewer feel at peace and ponder about life. To communicate my message, I combine simple forms inspired by the human body, nature, and medicine primarily through digital means or painting on canvas or wood. Much of my recent work focuses on female health, body issues, chronic pain and mortality. Portraying the contrast between pain and healing is a consistent element in my work.

The name WAXBLOOM comes from my experience with colored pencil drawings, when the wax in the pencil rises to the surface of the drawing, creating a cloudy layer. The cloudy layer is easily removed by wiping with a soft cloth or tissue. This also can happen with some other mediums which contain wax. Metaphorically, the idea of rising to the surface is what an artist does; allowing what is hidden underneath to be seen.
